(这个运动开始是用桃枝编成篮子挂在墙上,把球投入篮中,“篮球”之名更形象些。因为球篮挂在离地3米的高处,而篮底又是封闭的,所以每投进一球,就要由一个人爬上专设的梯子从篮筐里把球取出来。后来改成像我们今天见到的篮球框样子。)
